M is for Marvelous Mascara

If you are anything like me, mascara is one of the things that you can't live without. It's one of my "If I was on a stranded island, which beauty products would I bring with me?" answers. Mascara, concealer, eyebrow powder, and lipstick (so it could double as blush) would be my four. These are things that I do everyday, no matter what. This is why I have decided to make my first post about my most favorite mascara of all time.

I always have 3 on hand. One for myself, one for my makeup kit and one in storage, just incase!

It's called Lash power by Clinique.  There are a few reasons why I am making this my first post.  I recently lost my personal use one and was forced to use another brand...what a disaster.  Sure my lashes looked soft, plush and voluptuous for the first couple of hours, but it didn't take long for me to miss my beloved Lash Power.

This mascara does not move. It stays exactly where I wanted it to be for as long as I will let it stay there. It has a tiny little brush that gets into every nook and cranny, making my lashes super long and full.  This also prevents any from getting onto my eyelid area. We have all had that problem with those huge brushes!  They're just too big!
But, here's the real kicker with it.  The only way to take it off is with warm water.  No makeup remover required. It just slides off your lashes without leaving you with the big old raccoon eyes!  This also means that other then with the heat of my evening face washing it will not come off.  Not with cold water, not with crying (which makes it perfect for wedding days), not with being bombarded with bath water while bathing my kiddo.  Plus, I have used it as liquid liner too!  Just dipped my handy liner brush in there, and I have a fool proof way of having a great dramatic line that will not budge until I want it to.

So, I'm keeping this post short and sweet. Cliinique, my hat is off to you. I love this mascara! Thank you for keeping my face looking lovely.

Mommy Makeup Begins!

Well! It had to start sometime. I have been asked so many times through out my career to start a makeup blog. I feel now, more than ever that it would be a perfect time to begin. I've decided not to do so much of a traditional makeup blog, but one more geared towards the Moms out there.

I'll be the first one to admit that before I had my wee little one that I always thought my makeup routine would not change. I figured I would have all the time I needed to spend my time primping myself while my child napped, or while he was just hanging out - being content playing with his toys in the living room. Wow. I was sure in for the shock of my life when I realized that instead of beautifying that I would be spending my time frantically cleaning, eating and prepping for the rest of the day ahead. Hell, I was lucky if I could fit in a shower before my husband returned home from work! Makeup was the last thing on my mind.

Now, as he ages and things get a little easier (but, still just as busy - if not more so) I have started to try to make my appearance a little bit more presentable. But now, instead of applying the 6 different shades of my beloved eye shadows, or carefully outlining my pout to be suited for the perfect red lip, I am now looking for the items out there that are multi-talented. All day wear eye liners, brow pencils/powders that can help create the perfect shape and do not smudge off, etc...

I thought I would start this blog for all you other ladies who just don't have the time to spend dolling up every day, but still want to look as polished as ever. I will be reviewing all sorts of products that are out there -  new and old. Ones that are going to simplify our lives and help make us even more flawless than we already are! Some, well, are going to be frivolous - what can I say? A girl still has to pamper every now and then - and I mean yourself! Not another little bottom!

So, here's to us and looking amazing...without all the time and effort, so we can still make the three dozen cupcakes, clean house, take care of our little ones and be the smashing women we all are.
